Swapping grandparents!
April 2021: For thirteen long months, we have communicated mainly online.
But now more and more grandparents are getting their second jab! The vaccine is our game changer. Martin is a cool granddad. He sees the chances he would

Much of what they longed to do in their teenage days just wasn't possible then.
So now they grab the chances that come their way. Some for themselves, many more for their grandchildren.
So now they grab the chances that come their way. Some for themselves, many more for their grandchildren.
Today, Martin, like thousands of other grandparents after their COVID-19 vaccination, picks up where he left off when
the pandemic started. He's helping his grandchildren grow into curious, open-minded global citizens. Within a frame-work of possibilities that keeps changing. But that does not deter him. He says "I'm flexible, and I have time."
We introduced Martin over a year ago: "Was your childhood really black-and white?" tells the story of his first trip to London with his grandson Max.
The journey was an eye-opener for both. Please read (opens in a new window)! Now Martin is getting ready to go to France. For a few months, he's trading places with Thérèse, grandma of Léo and Camille. Max, the first of three boys, is taking French lessons now and Léo, his French "sparring partner" is learning German. Swapping grandparents gives both kids a native speaker with whom they can really dive into the language. |
Experience shows time and again that students and their younger siblings benefit tremendously.
It works wonders for their eagerness to learn, and they get the hang of syntax and pronunciation very quickly. What's more, knowing (and liking!) a native speaker raises the kids' interest in music, books and videos, which further helps them to speak fluently and without an accent.

So, whilst general travel is still restricted and most of our activities will just have to wait a little longer, swapping grand-parents is a popular option for many families. Feel cordially invited to join the Club. It's more than worth the effort!
